T & A

Ahhh, the long awaited and dreaded tonsillectomy is over!
They also took out his adenoids, so he had a "T&A"
(in cool nurse lingo)
To prepare for the surgery,
Grampa Dan and Grama Beth made possibly the coolest thing ever,
They altered this book (originally about a girl)
to make it special JUST for Max
Hee hee hee, My giant-headed family
For those of you who know Dr. Charlie- this picture is PERFECT!
ha ha ha
It looks just like him!
We checked in this morning at 6:20am,
Max was actually really excited.
THAT made things so much easier on me,
I can't imagine what I would've done if he had been nervous or scared.
He got to play X Box 360 while we waited to be called back...
About 7:40am, they took him back.
Me and Matty sat and ate bagels and drank coffee,
then at about 8:10 they told us he was done!
It was so fast!
About 10 min later, I got to go see him.
He was groggy, crying, and looked miserable.
He stuck his finger in his throat, and refused to drink anything.
The nurse gave him pain meds, and he fell asleep....
He finally woke up for real around 9:30am.
He was so ready to go home.
He wouldn't even crack a smile
At 10am, they let us pack up and leave.
They gave him more pain meds, and he was still so unhappy.
He threw up a few times on the ride home, and once at home after some soup.
That anesthesia can be yucky.
He is doing MUCH better now.
Grama Roni brought him a Scooby Doo video game
and new jammies, so he is relaxin' and playin'
He is smiling, has a funny voice, and very bad breath.
I am so glad the scary part is over!

SUCH a strong boy!

Together We Can

My sweet, artistic Max
decided to enter in the Reflections contest this year.
The theme was "Together We Can"
We brainstormed a million ideas,
then he said he wanted to draw a picture of a firefighter because they keep us safe.
(AND, his new goal in life is to be an EMT in a helicopter that goes around protecting people, kinda like a superhero, actually yeah, EMT are superheroes...)
ANYWAYS, he then decided that he better draw a policeman too,
because they also keep us safe.
Gosh, he is amazing.
I got a call a few days ago from the PTA woman in charge of Reflections,
she said "Max won a prize, so make sure you guys are at the awards ceremony on Thurs."
Of course I called, well texted, everyone.
(here is Max's sweet entry below)
BUT, I didn't know which prize he won.
So, they called up the honorable mentions......
they didn't call Max
They called up 2nd place......
again, they didn't call Max
(OMG that means he won 1ST PLACE!!!!!!!!)
They called up Max, and I BURST into tears.
His beautiful little drawing gets to compete with the other schools,
and possibly further.
He won a little golden trophy with his NAME on it.
He was SOOOOOO proud.
WE are all so proud!

(me, red-faced and gooey eyed)
Whew! What a night!
Here is a video of Max accepting his award :)
EXTRA thanks to everyone who came to support our BIG boy.
(And thanks to Beth for taking pics while I videotaped, and for Momma having an extra memory card, phew!!)

Tonsillectomy is tomorrow.
Send us lot's of prayers and good thoughts!
I will post lot's of cute pics tomorrow of Maxxy in his hospital gown.

Marley is 2

Well, she will be on Friday the 19th!
(which is also Max's tonsillectomy....GULP)
Isn't she the cutest little thing?
Man, I love her.
She is my long lost daughter,
and she is Jacky's best friend!
I love being able to watch her every week and getting to know her so well.
And I love that she loves my family so much!

Ariel with botox!
ha ha
And, yeah, I might have given her the best present ever....
a SUSHI dress!
I think she might be the only girl in the world with a sushi dress.
And she looked mighty delicious!
Lindsey put Toy Story 3 on and created:
TV ZOMBIES
TV zombies that like to pick their noses
Best pals!
(man, Jacky is huge! It's hard to believe that he is only 9 months older)
LOVE YOU Marley girl!
Thanks for making us happy :)

Love,
Asheeeee, Map, Maxxy, and Gak-Gak

I had my first semi-for-reals family photo shoot on Sunday.
It was for one of my favoritest buddies, Jen
Her fam is so cute,
Lou danced around like crazy and got little Vancey to smile the whole time!
Here are two of my favorites:

If you want me to take your fam or kid photos, let me know!
I like the practice!
AND, to see your cute families :)
