Jack's First Trip to the Cabin
We went to The Cabin last weekend and it was so wonderful. It was cold, but everything was so green and lush. It snowed for about 20 minutes and then was so clear and beautiful. The stars looks so much different at The Cabin than they do in the city. We watched Godvilla Vs. Mothra, ate oysters, and played Monsters Inc Life. Then we made Sante Fe chicken sandwiches with fresh anaheim chiles and margaritas, yum!!!! Matt got up early to fish and he caught a splake! I guess it is a fish that you don't see very often, nice job Matty! We all went on a hike Sunday afternoon, and Matt was carrying a rifle to try and shoot a sage grouse. He told Bruno to "Go get the bird!" and sees big Bruno pounce into the bush. Immediatley we knew this was bad. We see a giant porcupine run out of the bush, Matt shot and killed it. But, it was too late! Bruno got about 50 in his mouth, about 20 in his toes, and a big gash on his leg. Ace got a few on his legs and tummy too. We had to go back to the cabin and do surgery. We are getting to be experts- poor Smokee got it really bad about 2 years ago. All is well now, except Bruno's face is swollen and he looks like he has the mumps :) We can't wait to go back!!!!
